Admission Info

In January 1966, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was officially founded and named as "Private Tung Fang Junior College of Industry and Arts." Mr.Tsai, Tian-Lai was invited to be the first Board Chairman, and Dr.Hsu, Kuo Hsiung, founder of the school, to be the first President. The school was then allowed to recruit five year program students for the spring semester.

The school has developed four majors, including the Food Manufacturing Division, the Arts and Crafts Division, the Industrial Design Division and the Industrial Management Division, to develop professional and technical talents for the community. Based on the school's characteristics and performance of "Design Education", the school was renamed "Tung Fang Design Institute" on August 1, 2010.

In August 2011, the 14th Board of Directors appointed Professor Wu Shu Ming as the third principal to continue to develop the characteristics of "Creativity and Design", and to cultivate talents with expertise and humanities in the national society, leading the teachers and students of the school together. On the 1st of August, 2017, the Ministry of Education approved the name of "Tung Fang Design University".
